Extract educational profilesThree privacy modesFERPA-aligned by designTeacher review before saving
FERPA Notice: Do not enter or paste personally identifiable student information (full name, date of birth, address, student ID, or parent contact details) into any text field. Use student codes, initials, or anonymized descriptors only.
🔒 Student Code Mode: Assign a code like "Student A" or "GL-7th". SPEDGenie extracts educational profile data only. The uploaded document is deleted from memory immediately after extraction. You review and approve every field before anything is saved.
🛡️
FERPA-Safe Processing: Documents are processed entirely in your browser. The original file is never sent to a server — only the extracted text is sent to the AI for analysis. The original document and all raw text are deleted immediately after extraction. SPEDGenie never extracts or stores names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, parent contact information, or student ID numbers.

District Enterprise Mode requires a signed agreement
Named student storage, long-term data retention, and role-based access are available under the District Enterprise tier. This requires a Data Processing Agreement (DPA), Privacy Agreement, and Security Agreement signed by your district.
This tool is designed to extract instructional insights from educator-provided context — not to store student records. You must: Use student codes (e.g. "Student A", "GL-7th") — never real student names. If uploading a document: Remove or redact all PII (name, DOB, address, SSN, parent contact) before uploading, or use the paste/type option instead. Uploaded files are automatically deleted after extraction. Nothing is stored on SPEDGenie servers. By proceeding you confirm you have authority to use this document for instructional planning and have followed your district's student data policies.
